Abstract

This IDC Health Insights Presentation exhibits results from a recent life sciences industry survey conducted by the IDC Global Technology and Industry Research Organization.

The survey polled more than 4,100 IT decision makers in the United States to gauge IT spending drivers, obstacles, investment plans, and adoption rates across standard IDC technologies as well as four new transformative technology areas: "Big Data" and analytics, cloud, mobile, and social. The respondents were from across 24 industries, including healthcare (payer and provider) and life sciences, and ranged from IT/line-of-business managers to executive-level managers — the majority of whom are responsible for purchasing, procuring, and establishing budgets. The Web-based, double-blind survey was fielded February–March 2012.
