Lynne A. Dunbrack

Lynne Dunbrack is a nationally recognized thought leader in the application of information technology (IT) to the business problems of the health industry. Her understanding of industry needs is grounded in experience over the last 25 years working as a consultant and in the healthcare field.

As program director for IDC Health Insights, Ms. Dunbrack provides research-based advisory and consulting services that enable health provider and payer executives to maximize the business value of their technology investments and minimize technology risk through accurate planning. Specifically, Ms. Dunbrack conducts research for both the IDC Health Insights' Health Payer and Provider research programs. Her research covers the interstitial points between payers and providers on the healthcare value chain and includes coverage of major issues impacting these two sectors, including care management, remote patient monitoring and telemedicine, electronic health records (EHRs), personal health records (PHRs), regional health information organizations (RHIOs), health information exchange, physician and patient portals, Health 2.0, HITECH of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and more.

Ms. Dunbrack's most recent experience was as Product Manager for MA-SHARE, LLC, one of the nation’s first RHIOs. In this role, she was responsible for developing the business plan for implementing the Community Utility Services. Prior to joining MA-SHARE, Ms. Dunbrack was Director of HIPAA Compliance for NaviMedix, Inc., where she identified and assessed areas of risk related to HIPAA transaction standards, privacy and security regulations. She also served as Director of Product Management, and managed the development life cycle of NaviNet.

As former Senior Healthcare Analyst and Practice Leader of Gartner Group's Healthcare practice, Ms. Dunbrack set the research agenda and contributed to specialty areas such as physician market trends, practice management, managed care, enterprise scheduling, contract management, workflow improvement and system selection and implementation. Prior to joining Gartner Group, Ms. Dunbrack held senior positions with IDX Systems Corporation and Tufts Associated Health Plan.

Ms. Dunbrack is a frequent contributor to industry publications such as Health Affairs, Managed Care Quarterly, Healthcare Review, Health Plan, and Healthcare Management Technology, and has been quoted by national media outlets like The Wall Street Journal, Investor's Business Daily, Business Week, and San Jose Business Journal. She also speaks regularly at industry conferences. Ms. Dunbrack holds a B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross, and an M.B.A. with a concentration in healthcare management and MSMIS from Boston University's Graduate School of Management.
